Getting Elite Athletes Ready for Success.
That’s what GEARS stands for. It’s a promise about the work, not a label for who gets in the door.
Why GEARS exists.
GEARS develops baseball and softball players through technical training for the physical and the mental side of the game: fundamentals, athletic performance, baseball intelligence, mentorship and personal accountability.
Vision. A player from anywhere in Northern California can walk into a GEARS facility and get the kind of coaching that used to be out of reach, from coaches who have played and coached the game at a high level.
How we coach.
- 01Plan firstEvery player gets a plan built for them, not a drill list built for a crowd.
- 02Reps with purposeFewer, better reps. Every one has a reason and a coach watching it.
- 03The whole playerMechanics, the mental game and how a player carries themselves, trained together.
Coach D.
Dyron Rolling grew up in Richmond, California, and found the game again on the fields of Vacaville. Baseball took him to college as the first in his family to go, and he went on to a 30-year career in technology.
He never stopped coaching. For more than 17 years he has worked with young players, much of it unpaid, and GEARS is how he turned that work into a full training program with coaches who teach the way he does.
“Baseball is the vehicle. People are the purpose.”Dyron Rolling
